Review: Nyx Liquid Suede Lipstick in Pink Lush

Hello Lippie Lovers! I am reviewing my lipstick that I received in my March 2016 ipsy bag! It is a brand that I really love, Nyx, and it's a product that I have almost purchased a hundred times and I'm excited that I finally got to try it out!!!

The Breakdown:

Price: $7.00
Contains: 0.13 Ounces
Scent: None
Available: Online and at most Drugstores

Part One: Packaging

The packaging is cute, but it can be deceiving. It is not a clear tube where the color shines through, it is a colored tube that "matches" the lipstick color. Mine didn't match 100%, but the lip color was actually more neon and bright than it would seem in the tube. It has that flat paddle applicator that I have said time and time again that I don't care for, but I think it's starting to grown on me... A little. I'll give packaging 4 out of 5.

Part Two: Color

Ok, this is the most neon ass lipstick I have EVER put on my lips... And I think I kind of like it! I was even asked if I was wearing neon lipstick all day! The Nyx website describes it as Hot Pink. I can't say that's a lie because whoa. I don't know how they manage to pack such a pigmented bright neon color that had no streakiness when applied in a $7 tube. I just don't get it! 5 out of 5 for color.

Part Three: Formula

The reason I put this product back and didn't buy it so many times, was that I had heard bad reviews on it in the YouTube community. At the time, they would say, "It transferred" or "It never dried to a complete Matte finish" and I was like, "Oh no, I don't want that". Until I tried the Lip Lingerie, which according to them is perfectly what they wanted and I realized that I may have a different opinion.

I loved this lipstick. It stayed so comfortable on the lips and didn't emphasize my lip lines or bleed, or anything crazy. It stayed very vibrant all day. The picture I will put below was how my lips looks after 9 hours, breakfast, and lunch. For lunch I had a sub sandwich. Yes, mouth on Sandwich. When I went to take it off that night, it actually stained my lips a very pretty color, but as I was beat and ready for bed, I didn't get a picture. I think this lipstick has been bumped up to my second favorite liquid lipstick formula (Sephora will always be my OG) and they have some very pretty colors that I want to get now. Formula gets a 5 out of 5.

Final Verdict:

I don't think I need to say much more. These are affordable, easy to get your hands on, and extremely long wearing and comfortable. They have 12 different shades and I want at least 8 of them now (some are a little to crazy, even for me).

I mean Look at this colors!

12 shades available in the range.

March Ipsy Unboxing

Hello Lippie Lovers! I finally received my March Ipsy and I am excited to show you what I got and give a mini review of everything!

Items Received:

Nyx Liquid Suede Liquid Lipstick in Pink Lush - $7
Me Me Me Powder Brush - $~20.28 (£14)
Marc Anthony Blow Dry Cream - ~2.25 for Sample Size
Pixi by Petra Beauty Blush Duo in Rose Gold - $18 (Comes with Kabuki brush online)(I'll half it)
Vera Mona Eyeshadow in Clover - ~$4

Total Value: $42.53

Bag Review:

I am pretty happy with my bag. The value of the bags has really been over the top awesome lately. I mean the last 2 bags have been in the $40 range, and it's a $10 bag! I think that's pretty dang awesome.

Product Reviews:

Nyx Lipstick: I really like this, but I won't tell you why here, because it's going to get a full on review on it's own (I know I'm a bitch!) Check out that review HERE.

Powder Brush: I really enjoy getting brushes in my ipsy bag, as you may know if you read my February review, but I wasn't too impressed with this brush. I wish I would have gotten more of an eye brush rather than a face brush, but it was soft and compact.

Blow Dry Cream: This product is pretty good. It smells fantastic and isn't too heavy in my hair, leaving it smooth and silky, so a good product that actually sells for a reasonable price. I would probably repurchase this in the future.

Blush Duo: I am a little conflicted on this one. While I do think the product feels buttery and smooth, the blush doesn't really have much of an impact for me. It is very sheer and very light, you could barely see it again my white skin, so I think it would do nothing for someone even a little darker than me. The highlight side is really pretty though, and I have loved it so far. I probably would not repurchase though because I like blushes that are more pigmented than this one.

Vera Mona Eyeshadow: I was just slightly disappointed in this one as the picture made it look very pink, but in person is more of a coral peach color. Still beautiful, I was just looking forward to the pink. It is a nice eyeshadow though.

Final Verdict:

I think this my bag was pretty good this month. Is it my all-time favorite month? No. Do I still think it's worth it? Absolutely!

March Lip Monthly Unboxing

Hello Lippie Lovers! I know I haven't been writing up a storm like my usual self, but It's purely because I haven't had any new lipstick that I was excited about reviewing lately. But I received my March Lip Monthly yesterday and I was excited to get it because I made the decision last month that if I wasn't impressed with this one, I was going to cancel. How did it go? Well, let's see...

Okay, so here is the card, and what it stated I received:

I wrote #44 on the card, to remember the lipstick color lol
Now, according to this card I received a total of $42.49 worth of product. Now let's get into the product breakdown of what I received...

Camilla Lipstick and Matching Lip gloss:
The color of these is beautiful, no doubt about that. They are a very Pink spring like color. I haven't actually put them on my lips yet, but they did swatch pretty nice and pigmented on my hand. However, here is where the problem lies. I usually always look up products online to make sure their claim of how much it costs is accurate, but I can't find this brand... Anywhere.

The other think I will note is that if you look at the packaging of the lipstick, they are trying very hard to achieve that M.A.C. bullet. Only they fail, miserably. Putting it next to my MAC lipstick, it feels cheap, Like dollar store cheap. It's only supposed to be $3 cheaper than MAC? Um, no.

EcoLips Tinted Balm:

This one is okay. Nothing really great about it, but nothing horrible about it either. Is it something I would buy for myself? No, probably not. It's also a very brown based tint, so it would be better for someone a bit more warm-toned than me.

Blush/Bronzer Duo:

Lip Monthly seems obsessed with my cheeks! It seems as though they are constantly giving me blush products! It's cool with me if you throw in a non lip item, but it doesn't have to be blush every single time. This one is actually really pretty though...

Though the bronzer is not a color I could bronze with, as nobody would believe my white skin would randomly be tanned in a few spots, so I gifted this over to my friend who is much more tan than I. I did look up this brand and they are sold at Ulta, and the swatches on my hand were beautiful. This is a tiny tin, but I did estimate that it would cost around $10.

Final Verdict:

Yes, I will be cancelling. I want products to try that I can buy in store or online. I'm not even sure if I want to do a full review on either the lipstick or the lipgloss because I don't like to review something that nobody can get their hands on! Either way, I think the concept is good, they just didn't really deliver for me. I wish ipsy would start a lip based bag, now that I would buy!

Review: L'Oreal Infallible Pro Last Lipcolor in Permanent Blush

Hello my Lippie Lovers! Today I have an OG Liquid Lipstick from the Drugstore. This liquid lipstick was around back before liquid lipstick was a thing (I know it's so hipster). I picked this up and wanted to give a try. It is the L'Oreal Infallible Pro-Last Lipcolor in #117 Permanent Blush.

The Breakdown:

Price: $12.99
Contains: 0.12 Ounces (Liquid Part)
Scent: None
Available: Online and at most drugstores.

Part One: Packaging

These two step packaging lipsticks are pretty popular in the drugstore world, but I don't much care for them. I almost wish that the balm part could separate so that this long lipstick tube wouldn't take up so much space in my purse. But, then I would probably gripe because I would lose the balm piece and say it should all be together. I guess you can't win with me. 3 out of 5 for packaging.

Part Two: Color

The color I picked up is called Permanent Blush. It is a Pinky Coral with gold glitter. The gold glitter is mostly undetectable on the lips (you can see it quite well in the package) until it starts to fade and a golden sparkle is left behind. While this is a pretty color it seems lighter in person than it is in the tube, and I don't think it's really a shade that looks good on me. Whoever I do give them points because they have 24 different shades in this line, ranging from True nude to deep berries and purples. I'll give them 4 out of 5 for color.

Part Three Formula:

If you are looking for a lipstick that you can put on once in the morning, then work a 10 hour shift and still have color when you come home, this color is for you. The balm end actually feels quite nice, and I noticed it lasting about 2 hours or so. When you first apply the color, it states to wait 2 minutes for it to dry and then apply the balm. If you don't apply the balm this is the stickiest liquid lipstick I've ever had on my lips. But when you put the balm on, all of the stickiness goes away, and stays pretty comfortable for about 6 hours I would say. After that it began to feel dry and i needed to reapply the balm, but the color was still there. Though this is not my favorite formula, I would say it's not horrible. 4 out of 5 for formula.

Final Verdict:

So considering that for a drugstore lipstick, this is $13, I personally would skip this and get a Sephora Lip Cream for only $1 or so more. But if you don't mind a dry liquid lipstick that does really last all day, then you would probably love this one. I doubt I will be purchasing any more of these, though some of their shades are very pretty.

Ipsy March 2016 Early Access

Wanna Know what I'm getting in my March Ipsy bag???

Here is my sneak peek. Now let's talk about what products I'm actually getting in my bag this month.

1. The Bag. So It looks like i'm getting the green bag. Ipsy put a tip on their Instagram stating that they are going to have bags in 3 different colors this month. I thought all of the colors were cute, so I'm satisfied at the color I will be receiving. While the bags are cute this month, they are not my absolute favorite bag I've ever gotten (See February for that).

2. I'm getting the Nyx Liquid Suede Lipstick. I'm actually pretty excited about this one, since I'm such a Lippie Addict and all. Also the color looks perfect for me too! So far, so good!

3. This is the Pixi Petra Beauty Blush Duo in Rose Gold. Holy cow this looks so beautiful!!! It looks to be like a Highlight and Blush in one, and I'm freaking excited about this!!!!

4. This is the Vera Mona Lotus Eyeshadow in Clover. I've heard of this brand, as they are famous for their color switch sponges, and they only have 1 eye-shadow palette and Clover is a pink color within that palette, and I love the color, and I love eye-shadow so I'm also excited about this one!

5. This is the Me Me Me Loose Powder Brush. I love getting brushes in my Ipsy as I hate buying them, so I'm happy with this one as it looks like the type of brush I actually don't have in my collection.

6. This is the Marc Anthony Blow Dry Cream. I am probably least excited about this one, as I don't really use hair products I get in my ipsy bags, but I will give this one a try as I've never tried a blow dry cream before.

So that's my bag. Pretty great this month and I can't wait to get my hands on this stuff and try it out! What are you getting in your Ipsy bag this month?

Review: Nyx Butter Lipstick in Big Cherry

Hello Lippie Lovers!

I have a review today on Nyx's line of Butter Lipsticks. The color I will be reviewing is Big Cherry. I purchased three colors quite a while ago, but didn't really wear them much as I was too in love with their Matte range of lipsticks at the time.

But, my knowledge of what I like in a lipstick has grown, and my tastes matured so I though I would give them another shot. Also, please note that the names of the lipstick colors have changed, but I will give details to that below.

The Breakdown:

Price: $6.00
Contains: 0.16 Ounces
Scent: None
Available: Online and at most drugstores

Part One: Packaging

The packaging for the Butter Lipsticks is similar to their other lipstick formulas. The packaging is a bit cheap, and I wish the tube itself was black with the color peeking through the middle, more like the Matte lipstick range, but it isn't the worst drugstore packaging I've seen. I'll give it a 3 out of 5.

Part Two: Color

I have never tried any of the more nude shades in this range (As you know, I'm not much of a nude lipstick wearer) but the three colors I have (details will be below) are all very pigmented and beautiful with just one swipe. The colors in this line I think are great. They have an outrageous 33 colors! I mean come on, that's crazy! 5 out of 5 for color.

Nyx Butter Lipsticks in Big Cherry
Lipstick at time of Application

Part Three Formula:

These are described as a Satin formula. I completely agree with that if you have never tried the Mac version of Satin. Mac's finishes are not the same as any other lipsticks I have tried, and it the same with this one. This is much more creamy and hydrating than the Mac Satin Lippies. When these are on my lips it kind of feels like I'm wearing an extra creamy lip balm rather than a lipstick. Wear time is not the greatest, but it's not bad for a creamy lipstick. I felt the need to re-apply after about 2 hours and having a cup of coffee. Now, I still had quite a bit of the color, but I had lost that juicy look that fresh application gives. I probably could have easily gone another hour or two and been fine, but I re-applied. These are also obviously going to transfer, and you might want to refrain from a make-out session in these as the bright bold color does stain, and you don't want your significant other's poor face to be all stained. I'm surprised at home much I actually enjoyed this lipstick though so I'll give the formula a 4 out of 5. I just wished it would have lasted a little bit longer.

Lipstick after 2 Hours of wear and a Cup Of Coffee
Final Verdict:

These are a great lipstick for people who don't like the drying formula of Matte lipsticks. They aren't overly glossy though, they just give a nice plump juicy effect that is quite pleasing.

4 out of 5 Lippies.

Now that we have the review out of the way, I will talk about the name changes. So the lipsticks were all named after candy: Razzle, Taffy, Hubba Bubba, etc. and I'm guessing that became an issue because they changed all of the names. So while looking for more info on the lipstick I had I was worried at first that they had discontinued it, but alas it is now called Fire Brick. I will put a photo below of all of the old names and what their new names are in case anyone out there has previously purchased any of them and need to re-stock or whatnot. The three colors I own all have the old names, and they are: Big Cherry, Razzle, and Licorice. Any colors not listed here are new colors that were not in the previous named lined.

Review: First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Lip Therapy

Hello Lippie Lovers, today I am not going to review a lip color but instead something that is meant to keep those lips hydrated, and you know I need something like this since I wear mostly Matte lipsticks. I am not going to follow the normal formula, so here we go!

The Breakdown:

Price: $12.00
Contains: 0.5 Ounces
Scent: Minty
Available: Online and at Sephora

Ok, so this is an Oil-Based lip product, and FAB's website claims:

"BENEFITS
Hydrates, nourishes and protects. Repairs dry, chapped lips."

They also state that this product is:

"Petroleum Free.
No Parabens, Harsh Chemicals or Colorants.
Safe for Sensitive Skin."

First off, this product is very oily, so if you have lips that run on the drier side, then this is perfect for you. Also, a little goes a long way with this stuff, but it does feel as though you have just had a piece of gum when you put it on. Weird right? I know, but enjoyable.

I have been using this product for a few months now (and I have barely made a dent!) and I use it twice a day. I use it after I exfoliate my lips in the morning, I let it drink into my lips as I finish my makeup and getting dressed for the day, then wipe off the excess right before putting my lipstick on. I then put it on right before I go to bed and sleep with it on all night, my lips feel so soft and hydrated when I wake up.

I love this stuff, and I think it works great. I am pretty cheap so the $12 price tag was hard for me at first, but this stuff really does last a long time so I think it's worth it. I have really come to love the First Aid Beauty brand lately.

I give this stuff 5 out of 5 Lippies. Pick this stuff up, it's great!

So shiny!

March Ipsy Sneak Peek #1

Ipsy has released their 1st sneak peek for March!!!

So honestly I would be excited for pretty much all of these. The Bye Bye Under Eye was the one I wanted last month and didn't get (Though I ended up LOVING my pigment I got instead) so maybe I will get that one, but honestly I really like both the Nyx Liquid Suede and the Colour Pop Eye Shadow!

What do  you think of the 1st sneak peek of the month? Are you as excited as I am? If you are not a subscriber there is probably still time to get the March Bag. Click Here and check it out!

Review: Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor

Hello Lippie Lovers! Today I have a "liquid lipstick" from the drugstore. They are just trying so hard to make this new obsession work aren't they? Either Way, here we go!

Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor in HD Obsession

The Breakdown:

Price: ~8.99
Contains: 0.2 Ounces
Scent: Mango/Vanilla
Available: Online and at most drugstores

Part One: Packaging

The packaging is cute. It is thin and sleek, so it can easily fit in a purse or even a pocket. It has a frosted glass look, and you all know how much I love that! The only thing I personally don't care for is that they have that flat paddle applicator that has become trendy lately, but I don't really care for it. In case you are wondering why, I'll quickly tell you. While this shape hold a lot of product so that you don't have to "re-dip" there isn't a precise line and it makes it a little hard to get crisp edges. Either way, even despite the applicator, I'll give it 5 out of 5, I think it's just so cute.

Part Two: Color

The color I have is a beautiful color. While it is a very bold vibrant pink, it's not quite a vibrant as the ads lead you to believe. You can build up the color and get that color, but with one swipe it's not quite that bold. While Revlon doesn't have any color descriptions on these, I would say it's a vibrant red based hot pink. I could be wrong, but that's what my little pupils see. 4 out of 5 for color.

Lipstick at time of application
Part Three: Formula

Once again, this is where most drugstore liquid lipsticks fail. This one though is horrible. Revlon doesn't make claims that this one is long lasting, just that is a velvety smooth matte lipstick. So I pretty much agree with that, it does have a velvet feel on the lips, and it does mostly dry down to a matte finish (much better than the Maybelline One), but it does transfer and will not last through eating or really even drinking, but it does remain very comfortable, and I didn't have any issues with bleeding on this one. So as just a lipstick, not horrible and it's a good price so that's a plus. For formula though I will give it a 3 out of 5.

Final Verdict:

For a drugstore product it's not horrible, but drugstore brands have really been stepping up their game, so if I was to change anything I would make it a little more matte so that it matches the name a little better, but all in all, average.

3 out of 5 Lippies.

Review: Nyx Lingerie Liquid Lipstick in Exotic

Hello again Lippie Lovers, today I have an item that I was so excited to get my hands on when I got the notification that it was coming out. It is the new Liquid Lipstick from Nyx called the Lip Lingerie.

The Breakdown:

Price: $7.00
Contains: 0.13 Ounces
Scent: Slight Chemical Smell
Available: Online, Ulta, and at most drugstores.

Part One: Packaging

Nyx did a great job on the packaging in my opinion, especially for the price range. It's sleek and different than most of their other packaging. But while I like the outside packaging, I don't much care for the applicator. It has that flat paddle look that I just don't care for, but it works. 4 out of 5 for packaging.

Part Two: Color

So this line of lipsticks are called Lingerie because they are nude colors. Now, most companies do nude colors as the color of a girl like me's pasty white skin. I love the fact that they have darker colors that are not only great for my dark skinned gals out there that want a nude color too, but even for girls like me that just don't care for completely nude lips. With that said, most of the colors are warmer toned and it was hard finding a color that would go with my cool complexion, and I'm still not sure I picked one that is great on me, but it's what I got. 4 out of 5 for color.

Color at time of Application
Part Three: Formula

So this one is hard to judge. Does it feel comfortable on the lips? Yes. Does it dry down quickly to a Matte texture? Yes. Is it long lasting? Yes and No. Now if I compare it to most other drugstore "matte" liquid lipsticks, it hit it out of the park. But, If I just judge it completely as it is, I don't 100% care for it. After eating it wore off very patchy and weird, and that was surprising because after I put it on, it had NO transfer. But somehow it just looked odd. I also don't think it really layered well, as it had that gross thick texture that most liquid lipstick have if you try to re-apply. I'll give the formula a 3 out of 5. Not bad, but not my favorite by far.

Not looking so great after eating.
Final Verdict:

If this was just against other drugstore brands, it would probably get a 4 out of 5, but as it wore ugly and I had to completely take it off after eating and reapply, and there are other affordable options out there, I'll give it...

3 out of 5 Lippies.
